Shades of Green

Military green and camouflage have been a big color for Spring/Summer 2016. That’s not to say it can’t be worn into the Fall though! This H&M jumpsuit is probably my favorite piece that I own in that category. It’s lightweight material is great for those hot days when you want to look stylish while running errands. For the cooler days, it can easily be worn with a leather jacket and flats for a casual day or heeled ankle boots for a night on the town.

Here are some of my other favorite military inspired pieces:

I know I’m not the only woman that gets uber excited and squeals with joy when she finds a pair of shoes for such a great deal! When I came across these Tommy Hilfiger oxfords, butterflies literally began to flutter in my stomach. Then when I realized these shoes were on sale for $30 AND were the only pair which happened to be my size, I knew it was meant to be. Such a glorious feeling!

Mr. Hilfiger, thank you for continuing to keep the classics…well, classic!

Until next time…stay golden!

Resurrection of the Mom Jeans

Mom jeans…every man’s worst nightmare! But do they have to be?!

On a normal day, I would never pair this ensemble together, but someone had do it…for research!

Mom jeans are back and super on trend right now. With the high waist and loose yet tapered fit, they make for a great casual daytime outfit. To make it a bit more conservative and modern, you could wear a blouse or tee with a blazer. However, I was determined to make them wearable for a night out in summer.

We all know it’s been extremely hot and humid because it has been in literally every state. To keep cool and feel that occasional breeze, I went with my ASOS backless bodysuit. The open back is a bit intense (for some), but the amount of side boob is the perfect amount of sexy while still remaining covered. Wanting to keep it sexy but cover up a bit more? Toss on a cute cropped tank with a bomber jacket!

Once dressed, I clasped my western-style choker and then slid on my Sage Rider rings. They were a perfect addition because Sage Rider is Native American and Old Western inspired jewelry. The simple designs and sterling silver tied the entire ensemble together. If you need new well-made jewelry, Sage Rider is the place to go.

Men, I want to know what you think…is it possible to make these so-called unforgiving pants sexy?

Until next time…stay golden!

It was hot, hot, hot in Chicago, but that wasn’t stopping this fashionista!

One of my favorite bag designers, Onna Ehrlich, sent me a new bag and I am obsessed! The bag featured is the Cassidy in rose quartz. It is the perfect spring/summer bag as is great for when you are packing light for daytime fun, but also for a night out, as the strap is removable. What’s better than one bag? One bag that has two functions! This was the perfect shoulder bag to take shopping all day because my shoulder never felt weighted down. Then when it was time for dinner and drinks, I simply turned it into a clutch. Overall, it was a great trip and this bag was a hit!

Until next time…stay golden!

Top & Skirt – Zara; Heels – Steve Madden; Earrings – Charming Charlie
Bracelet – White House Black Market; Rings – H&M; Sunglasses – Wonderland Sun

Who says you need to live in a big city to dress like you do? Not this girl! I am all about dressing to make YOURSELF feel beautiful and confident, no matter where you live!

Just about a year ago, while living in New York, my mom visited me for my birthday. Naturally, we went on a shopping spree! I generally dress pretty minimalist and/or basic, but sometimes I like to branch out…and this outfit was it for the trip. My mom didn’t say a word until she realized how much I loved it because she feared I would put it back if she said anything!

This fun and flirty piece is just about the perfect outfit for any occasion in any location. Bridal showers, weddings, girl’s night out, dinner date…you name it and it can be worn there! For this particular shoot, I kept it pretty minimal and feminine. The earrings and bracelet both have white marble stone set in gold with some diamonds surrounding it, while the rings are a simple gold heart trio set. Want to edge it up a bit? Throw on a leather jacket with a pair of strappy black pumps/heels and add cool black clutch!

Until next time…stay golden!
